Easy Turtle Bars

These French-inspired Easy Turtle Bars combine buttery shortbread, toasted pecans, gooey caramel, and rich chocolate for a truly indulgent treat.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  • Mix flour and brown sugar in a bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Press mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
  • Sprinkle pecans evenly over the crust and drizzle with caramel sauce. Return to oven and bake for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot caramel layer. Let melt, then spread evenly.
  • Cool completely, then chill for 30 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Sprinkle with sea salt before serving for an extra indulgent touch. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
