Ingredients
  

Homemade Heavy Cream Substitute

  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp cornstarch optional, for thickness

Classic Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup heavy cream chilled
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • For the heavy cream substitute, melt the butter and let it cool slightly.
  • Slowly whisk the melted butter into the whole milk until fully combined.
  • For whipped cream, pour cold heavy cream into a chilled mixing bowl.
  • Beat with a hand mixer on medium-high speed until soft peaks form.
  • Add powdered sugar and vanilla, then continue beating until stiff peaks appear.
  • Use immediately or refrigerate until needed.

Notes

Homemade heavy cream substitute works best in cooking and baking but not for whipping. Always chill heavy cream before whipping for the best results.
