Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Electric Mixer
  • Baking Sheet

Ingredients

Cookie Dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 15-20 Oreo cookies broken into chunks
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the broken Oreo chunks and chocolate chips (if using).
  • For best results, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is still soft.
  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra chewiness, let the dough rest in the refrigerator overnight before baking.
