Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients for Chewy Cookies

  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fully combined.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually fold into the wet mixture, stirring just until incorporated.
  • If using, gently fold in chocolate chips.
  • Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes for best texture.
  • Scoop the dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are slightly underbaked.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

For enhanced chewiness, rest the dough overnight in the refrigerator.
