Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fully combined.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually fold into the wet mixture, stirring just until incorporated.
If using, gently fold in chocolate chips.
Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes for best texture.
Scoop the dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are slightly underbaked.
Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
For enhanced chewiness, rest the dough overnight in the refrigerator.
